Earthsea is Ursula K. Le Guin's fantasy cycle set in an archipelago where magic works through knowing the true names of things. The first three books were written for young readers; the later books are quieter and more reflective.

Best Reading Order

Read in publication order. The first three books each work as a complete story, so you can pause after any of them. Le Guin recommended reading Tales from Earthsea before The Other Wind, because one of its stories leads into the last novel.
